About this role: The Network Engineer will develop and maintain functional and secure networks at Gartner's Global Conferences. The role includes supporting the company infrastructure networks, ensuring service level coverage, reliability, and speed across multiple venues, maintaining documentation, and preparing shipments for conferences.
Responsibilities:
Design and deploy LAN, WLAN, and WAN networks.
Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices; automate tasks and monitor effectiveness.
Monitor network performance and integrity; resolve escalated issues.
Participate in design, build, and test activities for Wi‑Fi deployments, upgrades, and evaluations.
Collaborate with peers and vendors on network design documents and implementations.
Work with security organization to assess exposure, identify mitigation plans, and maintain compliance.
Maintain firmware releases and provide input for tracking and enhancements.
Generate reports using Meraki Scripts and Palo Alto.
Prepare and process shipments in the Fort Myers lab for upcoming conferences and accept/bring online equipment returning from events.
Clean switch configurations with SolarWinds and ensure readiness for deployment.
Attend flagship symposiums and summit events globally; provide remote support during other events.
Qualifications:
2-4 years of experience with Cisco IOS/IOS‑XE routing and switching.
2-4 years of experience with enterprise wireless (Cisco, Meraki preferred).
Strong experience with Wireless LAN Controllers and Access Point deployment.
Experience with DNS and DHCP configuration, troubleshooting, and support.
Deep understanding of WLAN technologies, network management, and security (802.11, WPA2, EAP‑TLS, 802.1x, AAA).
Experience implementing high‑density Wi‑Fi solutions.
Hands‑on experience with RADIUS infrastructure and ISE exposure.
Experience with site‑survey tools such as Hamina, Orb, Wireshark.
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience working in an agile environment.
Ability to work independently.
Travel to conference events 45%+ required.
