Role Description The Sales Account Manager role is a full-time, hybrid/remote position based in Minnesota. This role is responsible for developing and managing relationships with employer groups, brokers, and other distribution partners to grow Colonial Life’s workplace benefits business. Day-to-day activities include prospecting and lead generation, conducting needs assessments, delivering presentations, and recommending tailored benefit solutions. The Sales Account Manager will manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through enrollment, coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation, and provide ongoing account support. The role also involves monitoring account performance, addressing client inquiries, supporting employee education and enrollment activities, and maintaining accurate records in sales and CRM systems.
Qualifications
Strong client-focused skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term relationships.
Proven Account Management experience, including managing multiple accounts, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring retention.
Demonstrated Lead Generation capabilities, including prospecting, networking, and developing new business opportunities.
Excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, presentation skills, and the ability to explain complex benefit solutions in accessible terms.
Prior sales experience a plus, but not needed, in insurance, financial services, or HR benefits.
Ability to work on-site in Minneapolis, MN, with regular local travel to client locations as needed.
Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills, with proficiency in basic office software and CRM tools.
