This is a fixed-term opportunity to shape strategic customer plans, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver tangible commercial results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
About the Role: As a National Account Manager you will own, proactively lead and drive with passion the company's growth ambition within important retailers.
You will be accountable for developing a strategic plan that supports your customer & distributor relationships and delivers business growth expectations on volume, value and profit whilst balancing the strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build solid, trust-based relationships with key customer contacts, developing a breadth and depth of cross-functional relationships that enhance the profile and credibility of the brand.
* Develop strong relationships with trade buyers to secure effective execution of sales activities.
* Develop, negotiate, execute and track the delivery of joint annual business plans with customers that underpin sales and brand strategy, identifying new business and category opportunities.
* Lead strategic account planning, including revenue forecasting and budgeting, ensuring alignment with customer needs and internal growth objectives.
* Maintain the highest standards of account management administration, operating within brand, commercial, legal and financial guidelines and policies at all times.
* Partner with cross-functional teams (Brand Marketing, Category Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement and Distributors) to co-design and brilliantly activate brand, NPD and category initiatives in market.
* Take total P&L accountability for the customer relationship, delivering against budgeted scorecard metrics including sales, margin and category growth targets.
* Ensure NPD listings, category fixture plans and promotional activity are implemented and executed on time and in full across assigned accounts.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years FMCG experience in a Key Account Manager or National Account Manager role.
* Proven experience personally developing, negotiating and executing at least one full life cycle of a customer JBP with demonstrable scorecard results.
* Strong relationship builder with a track record of managing senior customer stakeholders and internal cross-functional partners.
* Demonstrable commercial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to manage and influence P&L drivers on a day-to-day basis.
* Strong negotiator with experience delivering a balanced scorecard of sales, margin, share and profitability outcomes.
* Comfortable working in demanding, volatile and pressurised customer and commercial environments, maintaining focus and control.
* High level of personal accountability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines in a structured, disciplined manner.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience managing full account responsibility for retailers.
* Background working with distributors or field sales partners.
* Experience in strategic account planning, including scenario planning and risk/opportunity evaluation.
* Strong category management exposure, including fixture planning and range optimisation.
* Familiarity with market data tools for performance tracking and insight generation.
* Experience leading or contributing to NPD launches and in-store activation programmes.
Qualifications:
* Degree-level education (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Commerce or a related discipline.
* Formal training in negotiation, key account management or commercial excellence (preferred).
* Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to support forecasting, budgeting, and customer presentations.
* Full, clean driving licence suitable for travel to customer and partner sites as required.
