Industrial Construction Project Manager
Requirement/Must Have:
- Experience coordinating and managing complex construction projects in an industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial construction standards and safety planning.
- Experience with multi-discipline constructability reviews and construction planning.
- Ability to read and evaluate schedules, estimates, scope documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Oracle software.
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction processes and their interdependencies.
- Familiarity with project control techniques including critical path scheduling, resource loading, earned value, and cost control.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic work environment with multiple responsibilities.
- Experience developing outage plans and coordinating construction activities with operating facilities.
- Familiarity with various contract types including lump sum, cost reimbursable, guaranteed maximum, and time & material contracts.
Experience:
- Industrial construction management experience required.
- Direct steel industry construction experience preferred.
- Experience with outage planning and coordination preferred.
- Knowledge of Construction Industry Institute (CII) and Project Management Institute (PMI) concepts preferred.
- Experience managing contractor claims, disputes, and change control activities preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluations of construction plans for safety, feasibility, and efficiency.
- Manage construction activities for assigned projects across client locations.
- Ensure safety, cost, and schedule performance of assigned construction efforts.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project progress schedules.
- Monitor and report actual versus target project performance.
- Perform constructability analyses and coordinate work direction.
- Review and provide input on vendor construction plans.
- Manage receipt, storage, and accessibility of materials and equipment.
- Monitor construction manpower levels and physical progress.
- Review contractor progress payments and provide invoice approvals.
- Resolve and report contractor claims and disputes while maintaining change logs.
- Coordinate and administer construction quality assurance programs.
- Monitor engineering and procurement deliverables to meet construction schedules.
- Prepare construction reports and maintain daily construction logs.
- Maintain record drawing data and required project documentation.
- Conduct construction coordination meetings to support project schedules.
- Coordinate storage and lay-down requirements.
- Assist with obtaining necessary permits and licenses.
