It is an agency of the recently formed Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
SOLAS works in close collaboration with Education and Training Boards (ETBs) across Ireland on provision of high-quality further education and training, equipping learners with relevant skills and knowledge, and providing a pipeline of talent into employment and to the Irish economy and society.

Working with sister agencies, SOLAS leads actions in key policy and strategy documents including the most recent Further Education and Training (FET) Strategy 2026 2030, the evaluation of the Greenskills Strategy , the National Skills Strategy 2025 and the People Strategy 2020-2024 and others.
SOLAS wishes to recruit two Project Assistants (Temp, 3 years) based in the Apprenticeship team, to support the development, production and maintenance of curricula, assessment, and quality assurance documentation for Craft Apprenticeships.
These roles will assist in maintaining strong controls around QA documentation, supporting the implementation of QA models for craft apprenticeships, and contributing to the monitoring of internal and external compliance with SOLAS requirements Key Tasks/Responsibilities: Work as part of a team to generate and maintain controlled documents and other QA activities as per SOLAS Quality Assurance procedure/s.
Work on the drafting, development and maintenance of curricula, assessments and other controlled documents for Craft Apprenticeships Format and prepare structured documents to a high standard for internal and external publication Liaise with internal colleagues and external subject-matter experts for the production of assessment and curriculum documentation Support on the assessment feedback process, in conjunction with collaborating providers and the relevant Programme Boards Support ongoing reviews of the internal processes relating to document generation, controls, maintenance, security and deployment in accordance with SOLAS specifications and guidelines.
Communicate well within the internal SOLAS team and with external stakeholders interacting by phone, online and in-person Demonstrate strong teamworking skills Support SOLAS representation on internal and external working groups and committees as required Assist in the production of reports and data analysis Support the work of other team members where appropriate Carry out any other duties deemed appropriate for the position by the line manager within SOLAS.
Requirements: Demonstrated experience in Adobe InDesign (or equivalent desktop publishing software), including production of structured, publication-ready documents Experience in document control processes Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Excellent attention to detail Strong communication skills, verbal and written Excellent interpersonal skills Proven track record in a busy working environment Ability to plan, organise, monitor assigned tasks and meet deadlines Strong team player, who supports and collaborates with colleagues to achieve organisational goals There are 2 temporary positions available, (3 years) for which the salary scale ranges from €35,067 to €62,336 per annum (inclusive of two long service increments) for a 35-hour week.
Starting pay will be at the minimum point of the scale as per Government Circular E100/8/82.
Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current service in the Civil/Public service.

A Blended Working policy is in place, and an arrangement is available to request with this role, a minimum requirement of 2 days per week in the office (Castleforbes House, Dublin 1).
One of the days being the SOLAS Anchor Day
- Wednesday.
