We do not offer visa sponsorship for this position. This position is primarily based on-site in either Fort Worth, Texas or Cisco, Texas, with frequent travel between the two locations.

Position Summary: We are seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Controller to lead and manage the accounting and financial functions of our dynamic earthworks company. The Controller will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Roles / Responsibilities:

  • Direct all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and inventory accounting.
  • Prepare and present timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections; monitor performance against these benchmarks.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations, financial reporting requirements, and internal policies.
  • Coordinate and manage annual audits, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and capital investments.
  • Partner with operations to optimize cost control, inventory management, and profitability.
  • Analyze pricing models, vendor terms, and purchasing processes for efficiency and cost savings.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to maintain a high-performance environment.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise required).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.
  • Moves throughout the building to access files.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
