Adult Residential Support Professional (Part-Time)

Location: Affinity Residential Treatment Program – Eau Claire, WI
Schedule: Tuesdays, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM, plus every other weekend
Pay: Starting at $17.75/hour

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a compassionate Adult Residential Support Professional to join our team at Affinity , an 18-bed residential treatment program serving women working to overcome substance use disorders.

As an Adult Residential Support Professional, you will play an important role in helping residents build the skills, confidence, and healthy habits needed for long-term recovery. Working alongside licensed addiction counselors and program leadership, you'll provide encouragement, guidance, and support while helping maintain a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment.

What You'll Do

As an Adult Residential Support Professional, you will:

  • Provide supervision, support, and positive role modeling for residents

  • Build supportive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries

  • Monitor resident behavior and document observations accurately

  • Assist residents in working toward their treatment goals

  • Monitor or administer medications according to program policies

  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and crisis situations

  • Maintain confidential resident records and documentation

  • Perform light housekeeping and help maintain a clean, safe living environment

  • Assist with meal preparation, grocery shopping, and daily living skills

  • Transport residents to appointments, meetings, and other approved activities

  • Collect urine specimens and administer breathalyzer tests when required

  • Facilitate educational group activities within program guidelines

  • Participate in staff meetings and required training

  • Provide basic first aid when necessary

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Previous experience in human services, behavioral health, residential care, or a related field preferred

  • Coursework toward a bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field is a plus

Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

  • Reliable transportation

  • Ability to meet LSS driver eligibility requirements

  • DHS 83 training (Fire Safety, First Aid/Choking Procedures, Standard Precautions, and Medication Administration) preferred but can be completed after hire

Computer Skills

Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to:

  • Complete electronic documentation

  • Use email and Microsoft Office applications

  • Access HR and electronic health record systems

  • Complete required online training

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent:

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and using stairs

  • Working in a residential setting with occasional outdoor responsibilities, including assisting with resident activities and seasonal safety tasks

  • Ability to travel locally (up to 25–50% depending on program needs)
