A high-performance, PE-backed technology consultancy is launching a brand-new Defence Consulting practice and is looking for experienced Data Engineers to join the founding engineering team. This is a rare opportunity to join a greenfield business where you'll help design and build secure, mission-critical data platforms for Defence clients. Working alongside Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers and technical consultants, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of the organisation's data capability.
The Role
You'll design, build and optimise modern data platforms and pipelines that underpin complex Defence programmes while helping establish engineering standards and best practices across the new division. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing secure, scalable data pipelines and platforms - Building robust ETL/ELT and data transformation solutions - Working closely with Software Engineers and DevOps teams on cloud-native solutions - Designing data storage and architecture for large-scale systems - Applying data governance, quality and security best practices - Supporting greenfield data platform builds and modernisation projects - Contributing to the long-term technical direction of the Defence capability - Solving complex engineering challenges across cloud and distributed systems
