Due to substantial growth, we are seeking a hands-on Controller to assist with the direction, management, supervision, and coordination of the activities and the operations of all phases of the finance and cost accounting functions. Must have a good understanding of business process management and business requirements; prepare monthly financial statements accompanied with analysis to budget, prior years and forecasts; and perform related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have the drive to grow into increasing levels of responsibility and be considered a strong successor candidate for the organization. The position is located in Greater Cleveland, OH.
Essential Accountabilities:- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting package that includes analysis of financial and statistical results comparing to budget, prior years, and forecasts. Provides detail analysis as to such fluctuations.
- Oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit, Collections, and Treasury. Provide hands-on guidance, direction and support for these areas.
- Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting requirements and recommends appropriate improvements to the overall system and operation as needed.
- Review and design of accounting internal controls.
- Facilitates the development of the site's annual budget; monitors and develops cash forecast of funds, schedules payments, and monitors borrowings needed to meet working capital requirements; monitors and approves certain corporate expenditures.
- Preparation of special reports; assists other Teams by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
- Attends and participates in professional group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of accounting.
- Lead inventory cycle count reconciliations and physical inventories.
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related.
- CPA or related experience including early career audit experience a plus!
- At least 10+ years of relevant experience with a cost accounting background. Manufacturing industry experience required.
- Accounting/GAAP knowledge required as it applies to privately held companies.
- ERP, data mining, and strong/advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
