Position Summary:
The Safety Tech supports safe operations across the facility by monitoring work areas, reinforcing safety standards, and assisting with incident prevention during overnight production hours. This role focuses on real-time observation, hazard identification, and ensuring associates follow established safety procedures. The technician works closely with supervisors, trainers, and quality teams to maintain a stable, compliant, and safe work environment.
Essential Functions:
Perform routine hazard identification by conducting systematic walkthroughs, evaluating risk levels, and issuing immediate corrective action recommendations to mitigate unsafe conditions.
Manage assigned safety programs to ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and site-specific requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and audit readiness.
Perform root cause analysis for incidents and near misses, developing targeted corrective actions that prevent recurrence and strengthen long-term safety controls.
Assist with new hire safety onboarding, including PPE issuance, orientation support, and reinforcement of foundational safety expectations for incoming associates.
Coordinate mandatory safety training across all departments, ensuring timely completion, accurate tracking, and alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Conduct nightly safety audits of workstations, equipment guarding, lockout/tagout compliance, and high-risk tasks to verify adherence to critical safety standards.
Log issues, hazards, and incidents in the designated reporting systems, verify closure of corrective actions, and escalate unresolved or high-risk concerns to leadership.
Support first response actions for minor injuries, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe conditions, ensuring proper documentation and follow‑up.
Provide real-time coaching to associates on safe behaviors, ergonomic practices, and standard work adherence, reinforcing a culture of safety and accountability.
Ensure operational compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and site-specific procedures through continuous monitoring and proactive engagement.
Knowledge and Experience:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly deliver instructions and training content to diverse audiences.
Ability to accurately read tape measures, verify dimensions, and interpret production orders and specifications.
Demonstrated knowledge of safe handling, storage, and use of hazardous chemicals and materials in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of cabinet profiles and materials used in cabinet manufacturing operations.
Strong computer skills, including experience with email, spreadsheets, and document management systems.
Ability to manage training records and maintain accurate documentation in digital systems.
Experience interpreting training data and performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
Experience developing and delivering training programs to employees in a manufacturing or production environment.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dust, and cabinet making related materials such as wood glue, requiring eye protection.
Exposure to hot and cold temperatures due to a non-climate-controlled environment.
Exposure sounds over 85 dB, requiring ear protection.
