We believe there is a better way to design our cities. To enable this, we aim to transform how architects and engineers work through collaborative, outcome-driven design tools.
Your contributions will have a direct impact on shaping our offering, enabling our users to discover smart, sustainable solutions and gain valuable insights in their projects.
About the role and the team You’ll help create an environment where engineers feel supported, challenged, and empowered to do their best work. You will work as part of a dedicated product team within Forma Design, partnering closely with Product and Design in an empowered product triad. Together, you will discover, validate, and deliver automation capabilities that reduce manual work, increase consistency, and allow best practices, standards, and domain knowledge to be embedded directly into design workflows.
This role is about turning design automations into a first-class product capability. Automations are created as reusable, configurable building blocks that can be applied and adapted across different projects and contexts, without requiring users to write code or understand the underlying implementation.
As Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to apply and grow both your technical and people skills to enhance our product’s impact on our users’ workflows.
On the engineering side, you will work with a wide range of technologies, including web, large‑scale systems, and cloud computing, tackling exciting challenges alongside a team of highly engaged and motivated colleagues. Our organizational culture encourages managers to contribute directly to the work while also supporting others.
On the managerial side, you’ll play an active role in our engineering management team, which collectively supports more than 60 engineers. Your main responsibilities as a manager will be to empower team members to succeed, foster a sense of belonging, and collaborate with other managers to build a solution‑focused culture. In the spirit of servant leadership, we hope you’ll share your knowledge and expertise with other engineers, acting as both coach and culture bearer.
Responsibilities
Lead and grow your engineering team fostering a collaborative, sustainable, and high‑impact culture
Coach and grow individual team members, supporting their professional development and guiding the team’s organic expansion as product demands evolve

Qualifications
Experience leading and developing software engineers in a product‑focused environment
Strong hands‑on engineering background building cloud‑based systems
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Cares about writing code that delivers value to users quickly and sustainably
Preferred Skills
Experience with TypeScript, serverless architectures, or AWS
Background in large‑scale systems or platform development
Interest in AI‑enabled workflows or design automation (you don’t need to be an expert)
Why you might love this role
You enjoy growing people as much as building software
You care about sustainability and real‑world impact
You like shaping products collaboratively with Product and Design
