Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Performs specimen processing by identifying, sorting, aliquoting, centrifuging, and labeling biological samples.
• Performs semi-technical procedures such as calculating weight, measuring samples, and recording data.
• Operates laboratory computers to enter and retrieve lab data.
• Performs account registration and orders tests in the applicable system.
• Answers telephone inquiries, conducting analytical problem solving.Faxes results, fields specimen handling questions, dispatches couriers, and performs other administrative support and lab-related customer service duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• Job is a non-management position that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience - No previous experience required. Six (6) months experience in healthcare environment involving computer skills preferred.
