Quality Assurance Intern - Commutable/Local Only This opportunity is available through Project Onramp, a program to help Pell‑granted undergraduates gain access to paid summer internships, industry mentors, and early career training in the Life Sciences sector and related industries. PROJECT ONRAMP THIS PROGRAM HAS NO COST TO STUDENTS. IT IS FREE. Quality Assurance Intern Applicants MUST permanently reside or ALREADY HAVE CONFIRMED HOUSING within a commutable distance of the facility. Housing/relocation is NOT provided.
Duration: Summer 2026
Compensation: $20.00 per hour
The Corporate Partner Our Corporate Partner is a pioneering, well‑funded biotech firm operating the world’s first Integrated Development and Manufacturing Organization (IDMO) for advanced cell therapies. By taking an Industry 4.0 approach and leveraging end‑to‑end automation, they are drastically lowering manufacturing costs and accelerating global patient access to life‑saving, living drugs. They are headquartered in California, with a brand‑new, commercial‑scale Smart Factory located in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
The Role Our partner is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Quality Assurance Intern who is eager to gain hands‑on experience in a collaborative, fast‑paced startup environment. This individual will work cross‑functionally with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Technical Operations teams to support the management and integrity of controlled documentation within an advanced manufacturing platform. The intern will gain direct exposure to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), electronic document management systems (eDMS), and regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
Document Control & Lifecycle Management: Assist in formatting, proofreading, and standardizing SOPs, forms, and records templates. Help track document statuses (draft, review, effective, obsolete) and assist with official issuance, reconciliation, and archival activities.
Training & Compliance Coordination: Support the assignment of training related to new or revised documents, track training completion, and help maintain accurate training records and logs.
Audit Readiness & Record Operations: Support the scanning, filing, and physical/electronic organization of controlled records to ensure they are complete and compliant. Assist in the efficient retrieval of documents for upcoming audits and regulatory inspections.
Data Integrity: Strictly follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity across all quality systems.
Qualifications
Education: Current undergraduates pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Quality Systems, or a related STEM field. Open to 2026 graduates.
Technical Skills & Frameworks: A basic understanding of GMP principles and regulated environments (via coursework or prior internship) is highly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
Core Competencies: Extreme attention to detail with an ability to identify documentation inconsistencies; strong organizational, time management, and cross‑functional communication skills; self‑awareness, integrity, and a growth mindset.
Requirements: Must be a Pell Grant Recipient for the current academic year. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of the Bridgewater, NJ facility.
