Job Description The purpose of this position is to lead and supervise a team of Data Analysts in delivering high quality people analytics, reporting, and insights to support decision making across the Human Resources organization. This role transforms complex workforce and operational data into meaningful, actionable insights that influence workforce strategy and organizational outcomes.
This position is responsible for advancing HR’s analytics capabilities from primarily reporting to insight driven decision support using statistical analysis, data modeling, and predictive techniques. The role operates as a strategic partner to HR and business leaders, translating workforce challenges into analytics solutions and clear recommendations.
In addition to analytics leadership, this role oversees data management, data governance, and data security functions, ensuring the proper handling, protection, and integrity of sensitive workforce data. The position establishes standardized processes, promotes a single source of truth, and ensures consistent, reliable access to data across the organization.
The individual in this role partners closely with HR, business, and technology leaders worldwide to enable data driven decisions that support the mission of the Church.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, including performance management, coaching, and development planning
Define and execute the strategic vision for People Analytics, reporting, data governance, and data management within Human Resources
Deliver high quality dashboards, reports, and advanced analyses using statistical methods, modeling, and predictive techniques to generate actionable workforce insights
Lead the evolution of people analytics from descriptive reporting to diagnostic and predictive insights that inform workforce strategy and business outcomes
Operate as a strategic advisor to HR and business leaders by translating workforce challenges into analytics solutions and actionable recommendations
Partner with HR leadership and stakeholders to identify analytics priorities and align work to strategic business needs
Establish, monitor, and standardize key workforce metrics and KPIs to support executive decision making
Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, compelling insights and executive level presentations
Oversee data management practices, including data quality, integrity, accessibility, and lifecycle management
Supervise data security activities, including access controls, data handling practices, and adherence to privacy and protection requirements
Ensure compliance with organizational data governance, privacy, and security standards
Serve as a data steward and represent HR in governance councils, ensuring adherence to data management, security, and governance standards
Lead cross functional data initiatives, including negotiating data sharing and improving data accessibility
Promote data literacy by enabling leaders to effectively interpret, use, and apply analytics and reporting
Collaborate with global partners to support international reporting needs while ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection requirements
Partner with IT and security teams to ensure appropriate controls, risk mitigation, and alignment with enterprise data security policies
Champion continuous improvement in analytics tools, processes, and capabilities
Qualifications
Master's Degree plus 5 to 8 years related experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 7 to10 years related experience.
Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, including direct people management, coaching, and performance management (specifically a team of data analysts, data scientists, or operations professionals)
Proven experience delivering people analytics within Human Resources, including reporting and insights that support workforce decisions and business outcomes
Strong analytical capability, including experience applying statistical methods, modeling, or advanced analytics to solve business problems
Experience building and delivering executive level presentations that translate complex workforce or business data into clear, actionable insights
Ability to act as a consultative partner to business leaders, translating HR or workforce challenges into data driven recommendations
Knowledge of data governance, data management, and data security principles, including data quality, access controls, and privacy requirements
Experience leading cross functional initiatives and working across business, HR, and technology teams
Experience working with analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau or similar) and familiarity with data query or statistical tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or similar)
