Our objectives are to: Measuretheeffectofdiseaseon lung function Followthecourseofanydisease affecting lung function Assesspre-operativesurgicalrisk Provideclinicianswithreportsofthe highest quality Provideadiagnosticsleepservice and initiate treatment under Physicians instructions Follow up patients on CPAP therapy toimprovecomplianceandefficacy.
To engage in modernisation and implement change according to best international practice.
Thepostholderwillberequiredtoassistwitharangeofroutinelungfunctiontestsand will be required to participate in overnight sleep studies.
Acompleteunderstandingofall the techniquesandequipmentassociatedwiththesetests aswellasanabilitytomakeaccuratemeasurementsinlinewithundergraduatetrainingis required.
Thepostholderwillberequiredtofollowthedirectionoftheseniorstaff.
Duties to be performed may include: Assistinafullrangeofroutinepulmonaryfunctiontestsincluding: Spirometry,Reversibility,DLCO,Staticlungvolumes(multi-breathandbody plethysmography), Muscle strength tests and Skin allergy tests on all patients attending the Respiratory laboratory.
ConductHaemoglobinmeasurementsonsuitablepatientsundergoingDLCO testing

PerformadministrativedutiesrelatingtoschedulingpatientappointmentsforPFTs.
DealeffectivelywithqueriesregardingPFTtestsandappointments.
ParticipateinQualitycontrolprogramtoensureaccurateandreproducibleresults.
Participateinregularauditsaspartofthemultidisciplinaryteaminthe Sleep/Pulmonary Laboratory.
Reportanymalfunctioningorunsafeequipmenttoseniorstaff.
Ensureclinicalstandardsandstandardsofpatientcarearefollowedatalltimes.
EnsurethataccuratepatientrecordsandDepartmentalstatisticsarerecorded.
ParticipateintheclinicalresearchactivityintheDepartmentwhenrequired.
Followhospitalpoliciesandproceduresinallaspectsofcare.
BefamiliarwiththehospitalandDepartmentdisasterplansandtheir implementation.
Undertakeclericalduties,includingmakingappointments,dealingwithqueries, filling reports, etc.
if required.
Undertakeadministrationduties(stockcontrol,personnelfiles,statistics,accounts, etc).
Participate and cooperate with legislative and regulatory requirements in relation to Health and Safety as outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare Act 2005 and the Hospital Safety Statement.
Ensure own mandatory learning and training is kept up to date.

Required: Completed3rdYear(orYear1Graduateentry)oftheBScinClinical Measurement Science from Dublin Institute of Technology (TU Dublin) or equivalent as confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Or Currently in final year of BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology(TUDublin)orequivalentasconfirmedbytheIrishInstituteofClinical Measurement And Candidates must have completed a placement in Respiratory Labs as part of their clinical placement rotation. xyswxtq
And Demonstrate clinical competence and relevant experience in a Respiratory and/or Sleep Physiology Department.
Desired: Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
