Grocery Third Person

Assists the Grocery Manager in directing the operation of the Grocery Department, including supervising and training personnel. Assists in ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking and merchandising. May direct and control the operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Director and the Grocery Manager.

Duties and responsibilities include championing company and division customer service programs, handling customer relations, performing ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking and merchandising duties, acting as back up cashier, engaging in suggestive selling, ensuring compliance with company sanitation, safety, security and other policies, implementing emergency procedures, and supervising all associates.

Skills and physical requirements include extensive retail background with prior management experience, strong written and oral communication skills, ability to manage and develop people, ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, frequently reaching, lifting, stacking and maneuvering objects, and complying with all company policies.

Physical requirements include exposure to potential hazards, exposure to varying temperatures, and working conditions consisting of a temperature-controlled store environment.
