Join Police Digital Service as NMC Cyber Security Engineering Lead Salary starting at £75,000 per annum The NMC Cyber Security Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading a team in the creation, configuration, and maintenance of the technology platforms and tooling that underpin security operations within the National Management Centre. Working as part of a dedicated and flexible team, you will play a key role in helping to protect front-line policing from cyber-attacks. The National Management Centre (NMC) is part of Police Digital Services and provides visibility and control of information risks for policing. It supports the 24x7x365 nature of police operations, providing a threat detection and response capability for digital services before, during and after cyber-attacks, enabling stakeholders to understand and proactively manage risk across the technology estate at both the national and force level. Key Responsibilities Contribute towards technical designs and documentation for new and existing solutions. Act as a point of escalation / subject matter expert for other members of the team. Providing support to forces for the configuration of Sentinel and log sources. Co-ordination of the testing, implementation and configuration of new data sources. Contribute towards the management of SIEM content such as detections. Line Management responsibilities for NMC Cyber Security Engineers. Working with wider NMC teams, contributing to Continual Service Improvement and innovations. What you need to succeed in the role Essential Experience of supporting and developing SIEM platforms in the context of a Security Operations Centre across a multi-tenant environment. Practical experience in the creation, testing, implementation, and support of custom tooling to support Security Operations. Initiative and the ability to produce quality work without close supervision. Good written and verbal communication skills, particularly in relation to technical subjects. Proven line management experience leading security engineers and analysts Co-ordinate, track and report on project milestones, risks and blockers to senior management Broad cyber security awareness and practical experience. Desirable Relevant cloud certification or equal experience. Previous public sector experience. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Sentinel (or other SIEM's). Experience working with code repositories and CI/CD. Why Join us? All applicants must be eligible for NPPV3 and SC clearances. Successful applicants will require NPPV3 clearance to have been approved before starting with PDS.
