Sales Development Representative / Associate Growth Merchant Lead (Emerging Markets)

DoorDash is seeking an Associate Growth Merchant Lead (aGML) to join its Outside Sales team supporting emerging markets. This role focuses on acquiring new restaurant partnerships across assigned territories, driving business growth, and expanding Door Dash's presence in underserved markets. This is a highly field-focused role requiring frequent travel and face-to-face sales activity with restaurant owners and operators.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building new restaurant partnerships within assigned territories
  • Traveling to emerging/rural markets to expand DoorDash market presence
  • Conducting face-to-face meetings with restaurant owners and decision-makers
  • Managing a fast-paced, transactional sales cycle and closing deals quickly
  • Selling restaurant partners on the value of joining DoorDash
  • Negotiating partnership and revenue share agreements
  • Collaborating with Regional Sales Managers and utilizing sales enablement tools
  • Maintaining territory activity and travel compliance requirements

Required qualifications include:

  • 2.5+ years of sales experience in closing roles or related sales positions
  • Experience selling to SMB customers strongly preferred
  • Restaurant, food service, hospitality, or food & beverage sales experience preferred
  • Comfortable with frequent travel (50%+ travel required)
  • Strong outside sales and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in field-based environments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving ability

Preferred experience includes:

  • Restaurant sales experience
  • Merchant acquisition experience
  • Outside / Territory sales
  • Food delivery, hospitality, or restaurant industry exposure
  • Fast-paced transactional sales environments

Travel requirements include:

  • Territory travel required (50%+ travel)
  • Most travel within 2 hours of assigned city
  • Some overnight travel required
  • Occasional longer travel days (67 hour drives or flights)
  • Travel expenses covered by company
