Career Technical Education Faculty
The Career Technical Education Faculty will report to the Campus Division Chair and will be responsible for the day-to-day activities in their respective departments. Special functions may include recommending class scheduling, providing information for budget planning, counseling, student recruitment, registration, working with student organizations, appropriate record keeping, and teaching all assigned classes. Salary: Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule D: $42,108 – $94,363 (9 months) An additional summer assignment may be available: $13,001 – $29,184 (3 months) Salary placement based on experience and educational level for placement on the Alabama State Salary Schedule D1. Additional salary may be available, but is not guaranteed, for summer employment. Applicants must provide information from previous employers documenting full-time related work experience if an offer is made. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned courses and laboratory experiences as scheduled. Instruction may occur during the day, evening, or weekend and at any College campus or instructional site as needed. Plan, organize, and facilitate learning experiences using effective teaching methods, instructional technologies, and student-centered practices to promote student learning and success. Develop, maintain, and distribute current course syllabi; utilize the College's Learning Management System and instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Advise and support students through academic planning, course scheduling, career counseling, and appropriate learning resource referrals. Ensure safe practices and compliance with applicable regulations in classroom and laboratory settings. Maintain a professional, collaborative, and respectful work environment while adhering to College policies, procedures, financial guidelines, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate instructional, program, and compliance records; prepare and submit required reports, Perkins documentation, and other institutional records in a timely manner. Review, evaluate, and recommend curriculum revisions; assist with the development of course offerings and provide input to curriculum committees and annual program assessments. Participate in planning, budgeting, institutional effectiveness activities, needs assessments, and other initiatives that support program and College goals. Request, manage, and maintain program materials, equipment, supplies, and other instructional resources in accordance with College procedures and budget guidelines. Serve on College committees; attend faculty, staff, advisory committee, and other required meetings; recruit advisory committee members and facilitate at least two advisory committee meetings annually. Promote and recruit students for the respective program and the College through outreach, community engagement, and participation in College-sponsored activities. Engage in ongoing professional development through professional organizations, training, workshops, seminars, and other activities to maintain and enhance professional competencies. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Instruction & Student Services, Dean of Instruction, Associate Dean of Career Technical Education, or Campus Division Chair. Qualifications

Associate's degree in Advanced Engineering and Design Technology or related field required. If a candidate has an associate's degree, three years of full-time experience as a practitioner in field is required. If a candidate has no associates degree, five years of full-time work experience as an in-field practitioner with relevant skills is required. The candidate must complete an in-field associates degree within the first 35 months of employment. Teaching experience is preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Competency in the use of current educational technologies in the classroom. Documented evidence in the proficiency of use of internet, e-mail, and computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Knowledge and experience with professional organizations, which promotes leadership, work ethic, and skill attainment; Commitment to and ability to deal effectively with all students, including those of diverse age, cultures and ethnic backgrounds. Understanding basic computer skills. Proven successful management of personnel, records, equipment, laboratories or shops, and facilities. Demonstrated expertise with developing and teaching web-based courses. Ability to review and update curriculum to meet changing industry needs. Demonstrated experience with establishing partnerships involving business and industry entities as well as 4-year institutions. Ability to conduct individual and small group instruction. Previous experience using a learning management software (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.) from an instructor standpoint. Ability to learn new teaching pedagogy, and new software, as required. An understanding of and commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college system. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to deal effectively with diverse students, other employees, and the public. Commitment to all students, including those of diverse ages, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds.
