Key Responsibilities
Examine braille documents for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Identify and correct errors in formatting, spelling, punctuation, and braille code usage.
Collaborate with braille transcribers, application developers and production staff to resolve discrepancies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of braille standards and best practices.
Prepare reports and feedback on proofing outcomes as needed.
Experience
Proficiency in braille reading and writing; certification in braille transcription preferred.
If not currently braille‑certified, willingness to work toward obtaining braille transcription certification.
Experience with assistive technology (screen readers, refreshable braille displays, and accessibility tools).
Skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with relevant braille software and proofreading tools.
Excellent communication skills.
Education
High School Diploma
