The Medical Support Assistant is responsible for maintaining and monitoring patient appointment schedules for the facility. Communicate any delays in scheduled appointments to the appropriate staff and patients. The Medical Support Assistant is responsible for re-scheduling, canceling, processing no-shows, and sending recall reminders. Do administrative notes using various automation systems and programs to accomplish work, such as text editing, and maintain and retrieve information using messaging, including email. Enters and retrieves information and data from the Clinical Information System. They also complete consult requests through the advice of the physician, utilizing the Computerized Patient Record System. When necessary, they refer eligibility enrollment and means test to the appropriate area. The Medical Support Assistant ensures that patients are scheduled according to the provider's orders.
MSA - Requirements
Education: A minimum of a High School Diploma. Experience: At least one year's worth of vocational training. Certification/Licensure: Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
