*About Radiant*
Radiant is a fast-growing small business delivering digital services and technology solutions for public sector clients. We help federal agencies modernize systems, improve mission delivery, and execute complex IT initiatives with discipline, transparency, and accountability.
We are seeking a *Senior Technical Project Manager* to lead IT delivery for a federal client. This is a high-visibility role for an experienced project leader who can manage execution, build trusted client relationships, guide Agile teams, and keep complex work moving forward.
*Employment Type:* Full-Time
*Location:* Remote; hybrid option for candidates local to the Washington, DC / DMV area
*Experience:* 8+ years in IT project management
*Clearance/Suitability:* Must be eligible to pass a federal Public Trust background investigation
*About the Role*
As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will own day-to-day delivery across the project lifecycle, from planning and execution through tracking, reporting, risk management, and successful delivery. You will work closely with client stakeholders, technical teams, Scrum teams, cloud engineers, security teams, operations partners, and Radiant leadership.
This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable leading client conversations, managing delivery details, removing blockers, and translating technical progress into clear business-focused updates. You should be organized, calm under pressure, proactive, and able to bring structure to fast-moving federal IT environments.
*What You Will Do*
* Lead IT project delivery from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
* Serve as a primary day-to-day point of contact for federal client stakeholders.
* Facilitate client meetings, set agendas, capture decisions, document action items, and drive follow-through.
* Build, maintain, and manage integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, owners, dependencies, and deliverables.
* Lead delivery using Agile and Scrum practices, including sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, retrospectives, backlog coordination, and release planning.
* Coordinate across cross-functional teams, including engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, operations, product, and business stakeholders.
* Identify risks, issues, dependencies, and blockers early; maintain visibility and drive mitigation plans.
* Prepare clear, accurate, and executive-ready weekly status reports for the client and Radiant leadership.
* Track project performance against scope, schedule, quality, and delivery commitments.
* Support governance, documentation, and process discipline aligned with Radiant’s CMMI Level 3-aligned delivery practices.
* Help the team stay focused, organized, and accountable while maintaining strong morale and collaboration.
*What we are looking for*
* 8+ years of experience managing IT projects with technical delivery teams.
* Demonstrated experience leading Agile projects in complex IT environments.
* Hands-on experience guiding Scrum teams and managing sprint-based delivery.
* Experience with SAFe or other scaled Agile delivery frameworks.
* Strong understanding of cloud-based systems, preferably AWS.
* PMP certification required.
* Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent professional experience.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to explain project status, risks, decisions, and tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities, resolve issues, and keep teams moving forward.
* Strong client-facing presence and the ability to build trust with federal stakeholders.
* Excellent organization, documentation, facilitation, and follow-through skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a small business environment where flexibility, ownership, and accountability matter.
*What success looks like in this role*
In this role, success means the client always understands where the project stands, what is coming next, and what could affect delivery. The team has clear priorities, decisions are documented, risks are addressed early, and deliverables are completed on schedule with quality and professionalism.
You will be successful if you can bring structure without bureaucracy, urgency without chaos, and leadership without micromanagement.
*Public Trust eligibility (required)*
This position requires the ability to pass a federal Public Trust background investigation. Candidates must meet applicable federal suitability requirements, which may include U.S. residency, work authorization, and client-specific eligibility criteria.
This role may be open to:
* U.S. citizens
* U.S. permanent residents
* Certain work-authorized visa holders, including H-1B candidates, provided they meet federal residency and suitability requirements, including generally having lived in the United States for at least 3 of the last 5 years
* Final eligibility will be determined through the federal client’s suitability and background investigation process.
*Nice to have*
* SAFe certification
* Experience delivering IT projects for federal, state, local, or public sector clients
* Experience working with AWS environments
* Experience coordinating with cloud security, cybersecurity, compliance, or DevSecOps teams
* Familiarity with federal IT governance, reporting, or delivery documentation
* Experience working in a CMMI Level 3 or similarly process-mature environment
