Longford Talent Curve Recruitment is managing a search for a qualified and experienced Maintenance Electrician on behalf of a leading, high-volume manufacturing organisation based in County Longford.
This permanent, site-based role focuses on ensuring the electrical reliability, safety, and performance of complex automated production machinery, utility systems, and plant-wide control networks.
Core Responsibilities Electrical Maintenance: Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and deliver rapid-response troubleshooting for reactive breakdowns on automated production lines.
Automation & Diagnostics: Diagnose and repair complex electrical faults on active manufacturing assets, focusing on PLCs (fault-finding, input/output tracing), variable speed drives (VSDs), sensors, and 3-phase motors.
Safety & Standards: Ensure all electrical works are carried out in strict compliance with the National Wiring Rules (IS 10101), Safe Electric standards, and site-specific Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the engineering team to implement electrical modifications, instrumentation upgrades, and process optimisations to improve overall machine efficiency (OEE).
System Integration: Assist with site-based electrical installations, panel wiring modifications, and commissioning of new plant machinery.
Documentation: Record all diagnostic outcomes, PPM tasks, and materials/parts usage accurately within the sites CMMS.
Candidate Profile Qualification: Fully qualified Electrician with a relevant trade certification (National Craft Certificate, SOLAS, or equivalent Level 6 Advanced Craft qualification).
Experience: 3+ years of post-apprenticeship experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial manufacturing machinery (ideally within a fast-paced FMCG, pharmaceutical, or heavy processing environment).
Technical Skills: Deep expertise in industrial electrical systems, reading complex wiring schematics, and diagnosing electrical control circuit faults.
Attributes: A practical, safety-conscious technician with a methodical approach to problem-solving and excellent communication skills.
Logistics: Proximity to Co.
Longford and a valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificate.
Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: €55,000 €65,000 per annum (Negotiable based on experience).
Contract: Full-time, Permanent.
Hours: Day Shift / Shift Pattern (Details to be confirmed during interview stages).
