Hours: 9:00-5.30pm Mon-Thurs and 9:00-4.30pm Fridays.
(flexible from 8AM) July & August Friday they close at 3pm Hybrid:1 day per week wfh following probation Our client are a growing small medium business, who supply and market products to the healthcare and retail sectors.
Role Purpose The Supply Chain Assistant provides day-to-day administrative and operational support across purchasing, inventory, logistics and supplier coordination activities.
The role helps ensure materials, products and information flow efficiently through the supply chain, while maintaining accurate records, supporting service levels, and assisting the wider team in delivering cost-effective and timely operations.
Key Responsibilities Assist with the processing of purchase orders, supplier confirmations and order amendments.
Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, stock movements and supplier communications.
Track inbound and outbound shipments and follow up on delays, discrepancies or service issues.
Liaise with suppliers, warehouses, carriers and internal departments to support smooth operational flow.
Support the reconciliation of stock records against physical counts, delivery notes and system data.
Prepare and update routine reports on stock levels, purchase orders, delivery performance and supply chain activity.
Assist with data entry and maintenance of ERP or internal systems to ensure information is current and accurate.
Help identify process issues and support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function.
Ensure documentation is complete, properly filed and aligned with internal procedures and compliance requirements.
Provide general administrative support to the supply chain team, including scheduling, document preparation and coordination of follow-up actions.
Work collaboratively with finance, customer service, sales, production and warehouse teams as required.
Skills and Competencies Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data entry, record-keeping and documentation.
Good communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally.
Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to resolving routine issues.
Good numerical and analytical skills, with confidence handling data and reports.
Competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Experience using ERP, inventory or purchasing systems is desirable.
Ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.
Understanding of supply chain, procurement, logistics or stock control processes is desirable.
Qualifications and Experience Ideally, 2 years previous experience in an administrative, operations, supply chain, procurement, logistics or inventory-related role.
Relevant qualification in business, supply chain, logistics, procurement or a related discipline is advantageous.
Experience working with stock records, purchase orders or supplier documentation would be beneficial.
A willingness to learn and develop within a supply chain or operations environment is essential.
