Operations Manager

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an Operations Manager who is a positive change agent and can drive high customer satisfaction while leading a branch team, including engineering, project execution and service departments, along with a back-office team to support a business that is experiencing exciting growth. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has experience managing a team in the fire alarm and security industry, and is ready to assume ownership of a branch operations role while being part of a vibrant national organization.

Responsibilities include ensuring all associates embrace the safety culture and comply with all safety initiatives, managing the engineering, project management, and service departments for the assigned Division, supervising, training, and developing all branch associates including designers, project managers, technicians, project coordinators, supervisors, dispatchers, and administrative staff, scheduling, executing, billing, and completing install, service, warranty, and emergency jobs, developing a budget and meeting revenue and gross margin targets, communicating with customers, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to execute plans, programs and processes designed to meet or exceed goals and maximize market potential, delivering projects within the original budgeted cost, executing monthly project cost and Work in Progress (WIP) analysis, reporting the information in an effective manner to management, and taking corrective action as needed, managing efficient asset management, such as inventory and company service vehicles, building a high-performance culture to include annual performance reviews and development initiatives, planning and allocating manpower, being responsible in part for customer satisfaction and cash collections, working closely with the sales team to support the growth and profitability of the branch, and controlling and calibrating inspection, measuring, and testing equipment.

Qualifications include two to five years' experience in an operations manager role within the fire alarm and security industry, ability to effectively communicate to a diverse group of individuals, including company leadership, regional staff, customers, and vendors, strong, positive team builder with leadership ability, knowledge of current fire alarm and security systems, strong understanding of Profit and Loss statements and key financial drivers, ability to attract, develop, grow, and retain a team, and ability to understand the technical aspects of the product lines and applications as necessary to make informed management decisions.
