This role is based in Dundalk, Co Louth.
Responsibilities of Occupational Therapist Assess patients functional abilities including: Activities of daily living (ADLs) Cognitive and perceptual skills Mobility and transfers (in collaboration with physiotherapy) Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to support rehabilitation goals.
Provide interventions including: ADL retraining Cognitive rehabilitation Upper limb rehabilitation Energy conservation techniques Prescribe and arrange assistive equipment (e.g.
grab rails, shower chairs).
Conduct home assessments and recommend environmental adaptations where required.
Work closely with discharge teams to facilitate safe and timely discharge.
Collaborate with: Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, speech & language therapists Participate in MDT meetings, case conferences, and ward rounds.
Contribute to integrated care planning and discharge pathways.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records in line with: Health Service Executive (HSE) policies Professional standards (e.g.
CORU registration requirements) Participate in service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
Contribute to development of protocols and best practice guidelines. xyswxtq
Engage in audit and evidence-based practice.
Requirements of Occupational Therapist BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or equivalent Registration with CORU Experience (placement or post-qualification) in: Acute hospital setting Older persons / geriatric rehabilitation Full clean driving licence (desirable for home visits) To apply please click apply or contact #MEDAHP
