This position requires Night Shift hours from 10:00 pm‑6:00 am and a TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI‑Poly.
Responsibilities
Systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks. Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, operating system installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems and management of system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
Provides support to IT systems including day‑to‑day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
Provides Tier2 and Tier3 problem identification, diagnosis and resolution.
Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
Installs/loads operating system and application software.
Isolates and resolves hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof.
Troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Performs software installations and upgrades to Unix/Windows operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements; evaluates and installs software/hardware patches and resolves software‑related problems associated with COTS/GOTS products.
Creates and follows procedures to maintain and manage multiple linked databases including security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery, and bulk data import/exports.
Conducts routine and emergency maintenance of assigned data center equipment.
Communicates/coordinates scheduled preventive maintenance windows with potentially impacted customers.
Collaborates and contributes to the development, administration, and testing of backup and recovery plans.
Ensures systems are secure to STIG guidelines by utilizing tools such as Retina and HBSS.
Maintains operational, configuration, and other standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Verifies system availability with existing Enterprise tools.
Qualifications
TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI‑Poly.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have Security+ certification or DoD8570 LevelII equivalent within 90 days of hire.
Valid U.S. passport.
Ability to respond to after‑hour calls (on‑call support).
Ability to travel0–20% to local area sites and other locations with similar architecture/footprint.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Skills
UNIX, Windows, and/or Storage administration.
Experience with trouble‑reporting and tracking systems such as ServiceNow.
Experience creating and modifying scripts on Windows, Linux, and Solaris systems.
Desired Skills
Experience in the imagery intelligence domain.
Knowledge of the client’s processes, procedures, and production systems.
Preference for skills in one or more of the following: Windows Server, Red Hat, IRIX, Solaris, Sybase, Informix, SQL, and Imagery Production Chain.
General knowledge of database administration, network administration, and network configuration management skills.
Physical Demands
The employee must be able to lift/move/carry equipment up to 40 pounds.
