The Mechanical Lead is responsible for the site delivery, coordination, and supervision of all mechanical systems during the construction phase of a pharmaceutical facility.
The role ensures mechanical systems are installed according to design specifications, GMP requirements, safety standards, and the project schedule, and are delivered to mechanical completion ready for commissioning.
Responsibilities Lead and manage mechanical engineering team throughout project lifecycle Oversee design, installation, and commissioning of piping systems for pharmaceutical processes Coordinate mechanical systems integration including HVAC, utilities, and process equipment Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards including GMP Review and approve mechanical drawings, specifications, and installation procedures Interface with project management, other engineering disciplines, and construction teams Conduct quality inspections and testing of mechanical systems Manage mechanical contractors and subcontractors Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical system issues during construction and commissioning Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Minimum 8+ years experience in mechanical engineering, with 5+ years in leadership roles Extensive experience with process piping design and installation Knowledge of pharmaceutical/cleanroom construction requirements Proficiency in mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and process utilities Experience with relevant codes and standards Strong project management and team leadership skills Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch language skills advantageous) Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing facility projects Knowledge of Dutch construction regulations and permit processes desireable Why PM Group?
