Clare, Ireland Reporting to: CTO Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Onsite Are you an experienced technical professional passionate about shaping industry standards? Do you thrive on representing your company in standards bodies and committees, influencing the development of new regulations, and ensuring products exceed global compliance expectations? Overview As the Industry Standards Lead, you will play a central role in actively developing, influencing, and implementing global product standards for life safety electronics.
You will represent Ei Electronics on international standards bodies and technical committees, ensuring our products meet or exceed regulatory and industry requirements.
You will also advise internal teams on integrating these standards into product design, R&D, and quality processes, ensuring ongoing compliance while shaping the direction of emerging standards.
Key Responsibilities Standards Development & Representation Actively participate in international standards bodies, technical committees, and working groups on behalf of Ei Electronics Influence the development of new product standards, contributing technical expertise, practical insight, and industrial perspective Ensure Ei Electronics' position and interests are represented in emerging regulations and standardization initiatives Standards Monitoring & Analysis Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global product standards, regulations, and directives relevant to life safety electronics Track updates, proposed changes, and emerging standards, including cybersecurity, radio equipment directives, and wireless communications Analyze potential impact of new or evolving standards on current and future products Support for Product Development & Compliance Provide guidance to R&D, product development, and quality teams on interpretation and implementation of standards Collaborate to ensure products are designed, developed, and validated in line with applicable regulations Assist in preparing technical documentation for regulatory submissions, certification, and audits Industry Insight & Continuous Improvement Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and best practices to identify opportunities to influence standards proactively Maintain internal standards knowledge base and provide training or updates to teams on relevant developments Recommend improvements to internal processes to ensure proactive compliance and strategic influence on emerging standards Essential Qualifications & Skills Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline Strong understanding of global product standards and regulatory frameworks for electronics or safety-critical products Proven experience representing a company in standards bodies, technical committees, or regulatory organizations Knowledge of key emerging standards such as cybersecurity standards (e.g., ETSI, IEC, ISO/IEC 27000 series), radio equipment directives (e.g., RED, FCC, ETSI EN 300 series) or similar Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Advantageous Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to interpret complex technical standards and translate them into actionable guidance for R&D and product teams Strategic mindset with a proactive approach to influencing standards development Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance Ability to work collaboratively across R&D, product, quality, and regulatory teams What We Offer We offer a challenging and highly influential role in a dynamic R&D and compliance environment.
