As a Payroll Lead within our Human Capital team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and growing our Payroll transformation and advisory offering.

Payroll sits at the heart of this ecosystem, acting as the critical intersection between HR, Finance and the wider HR technology landscape (including workforce mgmt).

Getting Payroll right is essential not only for operational accuracy and regulatory compliance, but also for unlocking integrated workforce insights, enabling organisations to effectively manage labour cost, productivity, and employee experience.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a market-facing Payroll capability, influence strategy, and drive innovation in Payroll solutions and services.
You will work at the intersection of compliance, technology, and operations
- leading a high-performing team and collaborating across global Deloitte networks to deliver high-quality, scalable Payroll solutions for our clients.
Key skills and prior experience Proven senior leadership experience within consulting or professional services, with a strong track record in managing senior client relationships Deep expertise in Payroll operations, transformation, and technology, with hands-on experience across Payroll platforms such as ADP, Ceridian, SD Worx, Oracle, SAP, Workday and related ecosystems Strong understanding of Payroll compliance, controls, and risk management, including statutory reporting, governance, and audit requirements Experience advising on Payroll operating models, including outsourcing, shared services, and global Payroll strategies Demonstrated programme leadership experience in delivering complex Payroll transformation initiatives Strong commercial acumen, with experience driving revenue growth and developing market propositions Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with a commitment to team development, inclusion, and client service excellence What type of work will I be doing? Defining and executing the Payroll strategy and growth agenda as a core part of Deloitte's HR technology and transformation offering Driving market demand and securing project wins focused on Payroll transformation, optimisation, and compliance Leading client engagements across key areas such as: Payroll vendor selection and technology implementation, Payroll operating model design (in-house vs outsourced vs hybrid), Payroll process optimisation and automation, Payroll risk, controls, and compliance reviews Advising clients on current and future-state Payroll capabilities, including integration with broader HCM and Finance ecosystems Assembling and leading cross-functional delivery teams Overseeing quality assurance for Payroll deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness Leading insight generation and benchmarking to inform client strategy and decision-making Building and developing Deloitte's Payroll capability, including methodologies, assets, and go-to-market propositions Collaborating with Deloitte teams locally and globally to provide seamless, integrated client solutions Who is the Hiring Manager?
