This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong survey professional looking to work on high-profile utilities and infrastructure projects within a modern and expanding environment.
The successful candidate will work across a variety of live projects involving utility detection, PAS 128 surveys, topographical surveys, engineering support, and technical reporting using modern surveying technology and software.
This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys a combination of field-based surveying, technical reporting, and project coordination within a fast-paced infrastructure environment.
The Opportunity Work on large-scale infrastructure and utility projects Exposure to modern surveying technology and equipment Long-term pipeline of civil engineering and utilities work Combination of field-based and office-based responsibilities Strong career progression and technical development opportunities Supportive and professional working environment High level of autonomy and responsibility across projects The Role The Civil Utilities Surveyor will be responsible for delivering accurate utility, topographical, and engineering surveys across multiple project sites while supporting operational teams with high-quality technical data and reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesUtility Surveying Locate and map underground utilities, including: Water Gas Electricity Telecommunications Drainage and sewer systems Carry out utility detection surveys using CAT & Genny and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Produce PAS 128 compliant utility survey drawings and reports Mark out underground services prior to excavation and construction works Topographical & Engineering Surveys Conduct topographical surveys capturing levels, roads, buildings, boundaries, and site features Carry out setting out works for civil engineering and infrastructure projects Support drainage, utilities, and construction teams with accurate survey control Drainage & Site Investigation Surveys Conduct CCTV drainage inspections and surveys Support site investigations, including trial pits and borehole setting out Record and report underground asset conditions and drainage defects Data Processing & Reporting Process survey data using AutoCAD, GIS, and related software Produce technical drawings, mapping information, and detailed reports Maintain accurate digital survey records and project documentation Health & Safety Ensure all surveying activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures Follow safe digging and underground utility avoidance practices Conduct site risk assessments and maintain high safety standards at all times Stakeholder Coordination Liaise with engineers, contractors, utility providers, local authorities, and project teams Provide technical survey support and advice across live projects Requirements Experience within utility surveying, topographical surveying, or civil engineering surveying Strong knowledge of PAS 128 standards and underground utility detection methods Experience using: GPS/GNSS Total Stations CAT & Genny Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS, and related survey software Strong technical reporting and documentation ability Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Good communication and organisational ability Full driving licence preferred Valid work authorisation for Ireland Desirable Experience Degree, diploma, or certification in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline Relevant site safety xyswxtq certification Experience within infrastructure, utilities, construction, rail, or power sector projects Experience working across live infrastructure environments Package & Benefits Salary: €60,000 €95,000 DOE Annual Leave: 21 Days Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Company vehicle and fuel card provided Laptop and mobile phone supplied Pension Scheme Statutory Sick Pay Long-term infrastructure project pipeline Career progression and technical development opportunities Supportive and professional working environment If you are an experienced Civil Utilities Surveyor looking to progress your career within a growing infrastructure sector, we would be interested in hearing from you.
