Our client is seeking a Hardware Test Technician I to support hands-on hardware validation, bench testing, system updates, and operational processing in an onsite technical environment. This role is responsible for testing hardware devices, sensors, and compute platforms, documenting results, supporting asset tracking, and helping maintain reliable throughput across validation and repair workflows.
Responsibilities
Set up, test, and validate hardware devices, sensors, and compute platforms against defined pass/fail criteria. Install software, execute automated scripts, and perform firmware or driver updates to confirm expected system behavior. Follow documented procedures and standard operating processes for hardware validation and operational workflows. Accurately document test outcomes, hardware status, and disposition details. Route validated or defective hardware through the appropriate pass, fail, shipping, repair, or RMA channels. Maintain asset tracking and support continuous processing through the validation pipeline. Troubleshoot straightforward hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Escalate exceptions, unresolved issues, and process concerns according to established procedures. Maintain quality standards, documentation accuracy, and expected throughput in a hands-on technical environment. Qualifications
Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems. Basic understanding of networking concepts and connectivity troubleshooting. Ability to read, understand, and execute documented procedures. Ability to execute command-line utilities and existing scripts. Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline. Experience working in a technical lab, manufacturing, warehouse, testing, or hardware support environment. Ability to work full-time onsite in San Francisco, CA. Preferred Qualifications
Experience performing hardware testing or validation activities. Familiarity with firmware updates, software installation, and driver management. Basic scripting knowledge using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar tools. Experience with inventory control, shipping/receiving, or RMA processes. Ability to independently troubleshoot straightforward hardware and software issues. Familiarity with AV components and sensors.
