DescriptionJob Purpose: The Bakery Manager at Hugo's Family Marketplace is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bakery department. This role ensures the production of high-quality baked goods while maintaining efficient production schedules, managing inventory, and adhering to safety and cleanliness standards. The Bakery Manager will also lead and train a team of employees, fostering a positive work environment and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the production of baked goods, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand.
- Maintain high standards of quality in all bakery products.
- Train and schedule employees, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Greet and assist customers, providing exceptional service and addressing inquiries.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and ingredients as needed.
- Oversee budgeting and financial management of the bakery department.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain cleanliness throughout the bakery.
- Implement and uphold food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Lead by example, demonstrating excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Adapt to a fast-paced work environment, including working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Education: A high school diploma or GED. Preferred Education: Degree or certification in culinary arts, bakery management, or a related field is a plus. Required Experience: Experience in overseeing production schedules and ensuring quality and production levels. Experience in training and scheduling employees. Experience in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies. Experience in budgeting and adhering to safety regulations and cleanliness standards. Preferred Experience: Experience in bakery operations. Knowledge of baking techniques, recipes, and equipment. Excellent leadership skills in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations. Strong communication and customer service skills. Experience in inventory management and budgeting. Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to maintain a positive work environment. Capability to greet and assist customers professionally. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.
