STAFFING COORDINATOR (Temp Assignment - up to 90 days)

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health (affiliated with Universal Health Services) is a 102-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Temple, Texas. Canyon Creek features individual units for adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care and intensive outpatient programs. Staffing Coordinator is responsible for keeping all the hospital units fully staffed, in order for personnel to properly care for the patients within the facility. The Staffing Coordinator creates and manages UKG (master scheduling software system), adjusting appropriately the staffing levels based on census fluctuations, call-ins and pre-planned leaves of absences to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts. This position is a key contributor and a member of the Nursing Management Team, and reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Position responsibilities include:

• Providing daily staffing of RN's, LVN's and MHT's
• Maintaining business rules, administering shifts and approving shift assignments in ShiftHound - the nurse scheduling software program
• Processing PTO requests and ensuring coverage for employees taking PTO
• Filling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts
• Communicating with CEO, CFO, CNO and all Nurse Supervisors regarding floor orientation scheduling for newly hired employees in the nursing department
• Actively participating and directing the training and onboarding of new employees as it relates to the scheduling process
• Working closely with HR on a variety of issues, which include assisting in the orientation of new employees, briefing employees on the requirements of work shifts and hours, as well as training new employees on systems or programs used to report work hours
• Utilizing UKG computer software system to update and maintain the master schedule
• Processing call ins/absences and ensuring coverage
• Producing daily staffing sheets and storing past daily sheets
• Preparing daily staffing FTE report for CEO, CFO, and CNO
• Reviewing time sheets daily and making corrections as needed for Payroll
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or GED required. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred. Experience: Preferably a minimum of two (2) years' experience in hospital with staffing/scheduling responsibilities for all shifts for clinical and nursing personnel; will consider business office and/or human resources experience, preferably in a health care setting; or any combination of education, training or experience in a hospital business office.
