Location: Belle Plaine Public Schools Starting: August 24, 2026 Reports To: Director of Student Support Services
Licensure: Master's Degree or higher in Educational Administration and Supervision from an accredited college or university. Minimum of five years' experience in the area of Special Education. Licensure (or working towards licensure) by the State of Minnesota as Director of Special Education.
Job Summary: The Special Education Coordinator develops and provides ongoing leadership for coordinated student support services with students on IEPs. Helps guide the development and implementation of goals and philosophies of the Belle Plaine School District and any applicable Federal or State mandates, which provides education and special services for students with special needs. Maintain open lines of communication to resolve conflicts and concerns with staff, parents, support personnel and community members. Design and coordinate services for eligible students; preparing and recommending program additions, modifications and deletions to best meet the needs of students with disabilities. The Special Services Coordinator must have knowledge, skills and abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of school administration, special education curriculum and program development for special students and issues related to special education law and due process; comprehensive skills establishing procedures to adhere to changing laws and regulations.

- Alternative Delivery of Specialized Instructional Services (ADSIS)
- Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS)

- District Rep at IEP Meetings
- Coordinate Child Study Team Meetings
- MTSS
- Facilitate Training and Communication
- Design and Implement Services for Eligible Students
