Location: Junction, TX 76849. This is a full‑time position.
A Brief Overview The Counter Sales Lead directs the work of Counter Sales Representatives. This role assists customers and contractors with the sales process by taking orders over the counter, answering questions, and receiving payment for customer orders.
What you will do
Greet and interact positively with customers, assisting with questions regarding merchandise, location, pricing, and promotions.
Process customer sales through the cash register, handling payment by cash, check, credit card, voucher, or automatic debit according to company procedures.
Provide initial responses to customer inquiries about product selection, order placement, pricing, scheduling, and refunds, as well as follow‑ups.
Facilitate product selection for scheduled and walk‑in showroom customers, using proper forms to ensure consistent records.
Purchase special products and obtain pricing, specifications, and availability information.
Attend assigned training and meetings to increase product knowledge.
Create accurate invoices, work orders, and sales tickets; code and input customer orders and pricing into the computer system.
Issue refunds or credits with manager approval when necessary.
Bag, box, or wrap merchandise and prepare packages as needed.
Maintain cash levels at registers and record transaction totals accurately.
Maintain showroom appearance and physical integrity, including doors, floors, windows, ceilings, restrooms, and workstations; clean and dust products and displays.
Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
Assist with physical inventory.
Serve in a lead role, directing day‑to‑day activities of fewer than eight associates, assigning tasks, mentoring, and providing training.

Education Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience Qualifications
1‑3 years of experience in the building material industry with extensive product and application knowledge.
Skills and Abilities
Commitment to providing excellent customer service and strong oral and written communication skills.
Professional demeanor and detail orientation.
Ability to multi‑task and perform good mathematical calculations.
Proficient with a calculator and computers; familiarity with Trend system, Microsoft Office, and basic inventory software.
Knowledge of building materials, applications, related equipment, and the construction industry.
Good interpersonal and customer relations skills; vendor knowledge; ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Familiarity with computer, printer, telephone, copier, fax, engineer's scale/ruler, mechanical tools, inventory tools, and inventory control.
Must be able to drive, walk throughout yards, plants, and offices, and be computer literate.
Availability to work Saturdays and evenings as required.
Excellent teamwork and customer relationship skills.
