AECOM is seeking a
Bridge Design Project Engineer III
to be based in AECOM's Phoenix, AZ, office. This full-time position will support our bridge practice out of the Phoenix team location. This career enhancing position will involve performing transportation structure design analysis, including plan preparation of structures in Arizona and exposure and contributing to project work throughout the Western U.S.
This will include the ongoing SR30 bridge design project. This important role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects such as the and a dynamic work environment due to the number, type and size of bridges that make up the vast portfolio of the experienced bridge group this engineer will be joining. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications and cost estimate for transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures. Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts and structure type analysis evaluations. Coordinate with other design teams and disciplines. Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures. Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered. Identify discrepancies in results. Provide guidance to entry level engineers. Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision. Qualifications
BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. PE licensure. Ability to pass MVR check. Preferred Qualifications
Professional engineering related work environment with heavy emphasis on design of highway bridges. BS, MS and 4+ years of related experience. Knowledge of industry standard computer software such as Civil3D, Microstation, LEAP Bridge Concrete, MDX, CSiBridge, STAAD, AASHTOWare etc. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, develop technical reports and document client communications.
