The Merchant Sales Advisor serves as an integral member of the Key Merchant Services sales teams in assigned districts and/or segments within Consumer Business Banking. With a focus on growing client relationships with payment and card processing needs, the advisor assists as part of the client's trusted advisor team for solutions to develop, manage, and retain profitable client relationships for clients with basic to moderately complex merchant needs. The advisor provides recommendations and solutions to help ensure the team achieves its goals, resolves client issues, and executes appropriate actions to ensure client satisfaction. Essential Functions
Acquire new merchant services relationships through prospecting external sources within the assigned territory and through referrals from client‑focused teams. Consult with prospective businesses to identify the proper payment solution and present and sell merchant payment processing—including credit card, check processing, gift cards, ACH, and corresponding hardware and software products—to small and medium‑sized businesses. Identify merchants' other banking needs and work with key bank resources to deliver solutions that meet those needs. Prospect small and medium‑sized businesses in the assigned region to supplement bank referrals. Perform other duties as assigned; duties or responsibilities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of the client and the bank. Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (required). Work Experience
Minimum of 1 year of payments‑related experience in a banking environment (required). Minimum of 1 year of success in a client‑focused environment with aggressive growth and service goals (required). Skills
Strong financial acumen, including the ability to read and understand financial statements. Exceptional negotiating and closing skills. Strong communication skills. Ability to manage and nurture client relationships by overseeing accounts, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring clients receive tailored solutions. Persuasive and motivating communication with clients and colleagues to adopt solutions that align with business goals. Core Competencies

General office duties—prolonged sitting, face‑to‑face or phone communication with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of computer bags up to 10 lbs. Driving Requirements
Ability to routinely and frequently operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license. Compensation and Benefits
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $48,000.00–$72,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based on skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation, which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
