Embedded Product Analytics Engineering Specialist
Job Summary: Caterpillar’s Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) designs and manufactures diesel and gas engines, ranging from 400 kilowatts to 16 megawatts of power, and the key engine systems such as fuel, air, aftertreatment and cooling. This position is located at our Mossville Tech Center facility and involves leading projects to develop analytics solutions for complex engine and power system problems.
What you will do:
Direct and participate in the data gathering, data mining, and data processing processes at scale; creating appropriate data models.
Explore, promote, and implement data capabilities through analysis and machine learning techniques.
Lead the definition of requirements and scope of data analyses, presenting and reporting possible business and engine health insights to management.
Lead development and deployment of engine health analytics into enterprise commercial platforms.
Research, improve, and validate data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy on engine data analyses.
Support Caterpillar LPSD Engineering and product support initiatives.
Education and Experience Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Demonstrated engine knowledge.
Applied analysis experience.
Leadership and/or project management.
Communication skills.
Skills you will have:
Business Statistics: Extensive experience and knowledge of statistical tools, processes, and practices to describe business results in measurable scales.
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Extensive experience and understanding of the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Programming Languages: Working knowledge of basic programming concepts and capabilities.
Domain Knowledge: Working knowledge of a specific domain, including current trends, directions, and regulatory considerations.
Technical Analysis: Working knowledge of concepts, methodologies, and activities in technical analysis.
Analytical Thinking: Extensive experience and knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive experience and knowledge of decision-making processes and associated tools.
Effective Communications: Working knowledge and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques.
Technical Excellence: Extensive experience and knowledge of relevant technologies and application methods.
Requirements Analysis: Working knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques for requirement analysis.
Top Candidates Will Have:
Engine system or component engineering experience.
Coding experience with Python and/or SQL.
General understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and their potential impact on business processes.
Machine learning knowledge and ability to develop, implement, and deliver related systems, products and services.
Proficiency with PowerBi, Tableau, or other data visualization software.
Additional Information:
This position is located in Mossville, IL or Lafayette, IN.

Summary Pay Range: $128,470.00 - $192,710.00
