Collins Aerospace, a division of RTX, is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer at the Starburst Engineering Department located in Largo, FL. This is an onsite role requiring a U.S. citizen with an active and transferable TS/SCI clearance. The position involves a 10% travel requirement and is eligible for a sign‑on bonus, employee referral, and relocation assistance. Responsibilities
Implement and sustain requirements for deployed products and services in operational and sustainment states. Work primarily within the Vulnerability and Patch Management domain on the company’s custom, air‑gapped Department of Defense IT network. Serve as the subject‑matter expert for Microsoft End‑point Configuration Manager (MECM) and perform routine maintenance and subsystem management. Create, present, and update system documentation, schematics, and operational guides. Interface with cross‑disciplinary teams to define and implement cyber risk posture, cyber risk mitigation, and information assurance across the enterprise IT portfolio. Travel up to 10% of the time as required. Qualifications
Solid background in Systems Administration using Linux (RHEL) and Windows desktop and server operating systems (Windows 11 / Server 2022). Enterprise configuration and patch management experience with automated tools such as MECM and WSUS. Understanding of traditional and current on‑prem enterprise IT systems and their security implications (ICAM, secure messaging, logging, cyber situational awareness, EDR). Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., CISSP, Security+). Active, transferable Top Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance with SCI eligibility. Minimum five years of related experience with a STEM degree or minimum three years with an advanced degree. Preferred Qualifications
Proficient knowledge of Enterprise Identity Management applications such as LDAP/Active Directory and PKI. Experience with a variety of computing platforms and support for COTS software applications. Experience maintaining Windows servers and troubleshooting software applications. Familiarity with enterprise firewalls and firewall policies/rulesets. Basic network engineering fundamentals (OSI layers, IP addressing, subnetting, TCP/IP, VLANs, ports, protocols). Experience leading or contributing to integration efforts involving Cybersecurity, Risk Management Framework, or Information Assurance. Benefits
