Responsibilities
Lead a team of 15+ technicians, provide leadership and guidance to deliver company results.
Meet one‑on‑one with direct reports to provide coaching and mentoring and help them find solutions.
Retrieve, review, and monitor metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and training or safety records to analyze team productivity and recommend changes to improve maintenance and repair efficiency.
Travel to technician and customer locations frequently.
Participate in and/or lead regular meetings with market team members across functional areas such as dispatch, parts, and billing.
Monitor operations to ensure technicians comply with administrative and DOT policies, safety rules, environmental and government regulations, and organizational standards.
Perform onboarding activities for technicians, including equipment requests, new hire documentation, and system access.
Conduct safety audits and Quality Control Inspections (QCIs) regularly.
Assist with development and adherence to the monthly budget.
Coordinate with market team members to set goals and strategies for improving team and market productivity.
Collaborate with dispatch and sales teams to ensure each technician has a full daily schedule.
Delegate work to technicians for unscheduled repair calls and coordinate with internal teams.
Participate in safety meetings to review and reinforce the company’s safety culture.
Implement safety processes and monitor technicians’ adherence to them.
Provide guidance and expert advice on technical and process topics to management, subordinates, and customers.
Collaborate with customers to provide solutions that meet vehicle maintenance requirements and act as liaison between technicians and customers.
Facilitate communication and problem solving across organizational functions to resolve issues.
Provide standard and emergency operating procedures for maintenance, replacement, and repair work.
Monitor inventory levels of equipment, parts, and tools across technicians.
Interview, select, and train new technicians.
Work across Cox Fleet’s organizations to resolve items related to the technician role (HR, Parts/Procurement, Fleet Management, IT, etc.).
Operate a company‑issued vehicle to travel to technicians and customer locations.
Perform technician duties such as preventive maintenance or parts repairs or replacements as needed to model appropriate practices.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience in a related field (alternative combinations such as a master’s degree with 4 years, a Ph.D. with 1 year, or 10 years of experience are acceptable).
1+ year of experience in a management or lead role.
Safe driver with a 3‑year MVR review required; must hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
At least 21 years of age.
Skills in coaching, mentoring, teaching, discipline, having difficult conversations, and “tough love” as it pertains to mobile technicians.
Knowledge of the mobile work environment, maintenance practices, and process requirements for mobile maintenance.
Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts to solve issues related to the technician job.
High sense of urgency and ability to act promptly.
Experience with IT systems related to technician day‑to‑day activity (dispatching software, reporting tools, Workday, Salesforce, Kronos, Power BI, etc.).

Compensation Base salary range: $89,400 – $134,000 per year. Salary may vary within the range based on location and candidate qualifications. The position may be eligible for incentive compensation.
Benefits Flexible vacation with pay, seven paid holidays per year, up to 160 hours of paid wellness each year, and additional paid time off for bereavement, jury duty, volunteer time, military leave, and parental leave.
