Broadcom’s ASIC Products Division is seeking a Design Automation Software Development Engineer in the Design For Test (DFT) team developing SoC ASIC products. The engineer will define, develop, deploy and support methodology, design automation software tools and flows used in ASIC development. This role involves development, testing and deployment of software products and usage methodology within a world‑wide, cutting‑edge ASIC DFT technology development and implementation team. Responsibilities
Use Bash, Perl, Ruby, Python or TCL scripting to automate design tool processes. Develop complex tools in languages such as C++. Debug tool and design flow related issues for IC designers. Provide support/training on tools and methodologies to engineers at multiple geographies. Work directly with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues. Apply hardware/software skills to create innovative solutions. Develop documentation and training on custom flows and internal tools. Understand and deploy new and evolving DFT architecture solutions. Skills & Experience
Proficiency in programming languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, Tcl, C/C++ in a UNIX/Linux environment. Digital Logic Design and Verilog HDL knowledge. Understanding of programming issues such as OO design, memory leaks, data structures, sorting, recursion, stack overflow and greedy algorithms. Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication. Understanding of Scan Test architecture and implementation. Experience with Streaming Scan Networks is a plus. Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and scripting, digital timing analysis, software development tools and revision control systems. Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering and 5+ years of related experience; or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering and 3+ years of related experience. Compensation & Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is USD 101,000.00 to USD 162,000.00. Eligible employees may receive a discretionary annual bonus and both new‑hire and annual equity awards.
