About the Role We're expanding our fiber optic construction team and hiring skilled technicians who can handle
all aspects of fiber deployment
- from aerial and underground cable installation to fusion splicing, testing, and troubleshooting. If you're proficient in running fiber on poles, lashing cable, mid-sheath splices, terminations, OTDR testing, and more, we want to talk to you. Competitive pay for high-quality, safety-focused work in Missouri's growing broadband projects. Key Responsibilities • Install, lash, and maintain aerial fiber optic cables on poles using bucket trucks, strand, hardware, and lashing equipment. • Perform underground fiber pulls, directional boring support, and conduit work as needed. • Fusion splice single-mode and multi-mode fiber (loose tube, ribbon, up to high-count cables) in aerial, underground, and indoor settings. • Terminate fiber, build enclosures, patch panels, and handle mid-sheath/branch splices. • Test and troubleshoot fiber networks using OTDR, power meters, light sources, and other tools - ensure low-loss, high-quality connections. • Read and interpret fiber schematics, splice plans, and network prints. • Maintain accurate documentation, redlines, and as-builts. • Follow all safety protocols, OSHA standards, and company procedures while working at heights, in all weather, and around utilities. • Assist with site setup/cleanup, material handling, and crew support when required. Requirements • 2+ years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation, aerial construction, and/or splicing (more experience = higher pay). • Proficiency with fusion splicers (e.g., Fujikura, Sumitomo), cleavers, OTDRs, and fiber handling tools. • Comfortable working at heights in bucket trucks or climbing poles (CDL preferred but not always required). • Valid driver's license; clean driving record. • Ability to pass background check and drug screening. • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within Missouri (per diem/travel pay possible on out-of-town jobs). • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality work. What We Offer • Pay starting at $25/hour, up to $50/hour for top-tier splicers, leads, or those with advanced certifications. • Overtime opportunities (plenty in peak seasons). • Potential for bonuses, per diem, or project incentives. • Tools and equipment provided (or tool allowance for subs). • Growth into lead/foreman roles for the right candidates. • Be part of expanding high-speed internet access in Missouri communities. If you're a fiber pro who can "do it all" - aerial builds, underground drops, precise splicing, and testing - this is your chance to earn top dollar with steady work. Apply now with your resume, years of experience, and key skills (e.g., splicing certifications, equipment you own/operate). Serious inquiries only - let's build some fiber!
