The Supervisor, Bikeshare Maintenance and Electrification will report to the Director, Bikeshare Services responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing the maintenance standards for all Bikeshare non-motorized and e-bike rolling assets. Develop and implement an ongoing electrification plan for the program with a goal of future carbon neutrality. Oversee all bicycle asset management functions including parts inventory procurements and operations. Direct the Bikeshare mechanic team to ensure all rolling equipment is maintained in like new condition and capable of fulfilling the daily service requirements, including non-revenue fleets. Lead large and small projects, including the development of requirements, to procure future rolling and electrification assets. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, inclusive, and fun environment that ensures Bikeshare is an enjoyable place to work for everyone.
ResponsibilitiesFleet Maintenance & Operational Oversight Direct an expanding team of mechanics in a rapidly growing bikeshare and ensure all staff are thoroughly trained in diagnostic and repairs for traditional bicycles as well as cutting-edge emerging e-bike technologies. Develop and continually improve maintenance processes and procedures. Oversee the fleet of non-revenue vehicles used in the operation of the program. Ensure the proper maintenance of all non-revenue vehicles through a mix of internal maintenance activities and coordinating external maintenance resources. Oversee the parts and electric charging operations/infrastructure including the management of inventories needed for quality maintenance of all rolling equipment, electrified or not.
Asset Maintenance & Readiness Ensure the Bikeshare program has the resources necessary to maintain the program assets in like-new condition. Support special event operations to ensure high availability of the fleet throughout the duration of all special events. Coordinate with vendors to correct fleet defects and warranty issues expeditiously.
Budget Preparation & Administration Manage budget preparation and administration for all maintenance related activities, long and short-range planning for maintenance, and vehicle replacements.
CapMetro Support & Other Duties Assigned Support Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by following safety and security policies, considering safety in every action, and reporting safety and security concerns. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES SUPERVISOR AND/OR LEADERSHIP EXERCISED:Manages department personnel by planning, scheduling, delegating and overseeing employee work assignments, authorizing coordinating, and scheduling work with vendors and consultants, conducting personnel actions, including hiring and interviewing, and overseeing hiring, training, work assignments and performance evaluations.
QualificationsWHAT YOU BRING
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Electronics, Engineering, Transportation/Logistics, Transportation/Urban Planning, Business/Management, or any related discipline. Additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years. Eight (8) years of expertise with bicycle repair processes, tools, and methodologies; including strong experience with e-bikes and their supporting equipment including two (2) years of supervisory/lead experience in an operations environment. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to complete a driver safety course provided by Capital Metro within the first 90 days.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Excellent communication skills including ability to listen and provide feedback, to communicate goals and objectives within a team environment, and to build relationships for trust and respect. Excellent management skills including ability to hold others and self-accountable, to make difficult decisions, when necessary, to focus on results, analyze data, and plan, develop, and implement formal work plans. Knowledge of basic managing strategies and project coordination. Must have demonstrate experience and computer skills with MS Windows products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and other software packages in a Windows environment, write inspection reports, develop, and use spreadsheets to track projects, use electronic mail to communicate, and organize to maintain calendar appointments. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions including work outside in all weather conditions. This position works with multiple project timelines and is responsible for managing employees performing work of a complex nature. Incumbent must have the ability to stand, crouch, walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach in at least an eight-hour period, reach vertically for overhead use as well as horizontally. Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment. Incumbent must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 80 lbs., Must be comfortable and able to climb up and down an 8 ft. ladder, and function in an environment with constant interruptions. Mobility Status:As an Onsite position, the incumbent's primary workplace is a CapMetro facility or field location. Expected to work in the office 4+ days a week.
