The Counter Salesperson is the first point of contact for customers, providing sales assistance, handling phone calls, stocking inventory, and maintaining the store’s appearance. Responsibilities
Assist foot traffic and telephone customers by answering questions, providing quotes, and processing orders. Receive, stock, and organize inventory, and keep the store clean and merchandise displays up to standard. Support the yard crew by loading customer vehicles and preparing loads for delivery when needed. Handle clear and accurate order entry in the ERP system, including POs, backorders, and change orders. File invoices, arrange payment, and process financing options. Communicate cancellations, returns, and order status with customer, receiver, and distributors. Attend daily and periodic team meetings, including safety and PMK meetings. Maintain proper documentation such as transfer requests, ROA payments, and market transactions. Respond to voicemails and emails promptly with appropriate tone and grammar. Assist teammates and resolve problems in a customer‑friendly manner. Follow all company policies, safety protocols, and AR account procedures. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills with 30+ WPM typing, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS system experience. Strong verbal and written communication in English. Proficiency in inventory and sales software, including ERP and Mitel. Ability to lift up to 50lb and work outdoors in all weather. ClassC driver’s license or alternate transportation preferred. OSHA Certified Forklift License preferred. Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills. Customer‑service orientation and teamwork ability. Working Conditions
Work primarily at the sales counter in one of PARR’s retail locations. Extended periods of standing or sitting, both indoors and outdoors. Completion of travel for local and overnight trips may be required. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50lb and move items up to 50ft. Benefits
