Position Summary:
The Senior Sales Data Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, making recommendations about, and implementing data reports associated with EquiTrust’s sales and marketing activity. This individual provides review, analysis, and reporting of distribution data and trends. The Senior Sales Data Analyst gathers pertinent data and provides analysis to support sales and marketing initiatives and decisions. This individual is responsible for leading, assisting, and supporting a variety of functions and processes including the build‑out of various models using advanced Excel tools, Power BI reporting and dashboard creation, distribution activity analysis, and ad hoc requests.
This individual works closely with Marketing and Sales leaders to design, develop, and distribute reports and consult on insights. The Senior Sales Data Analyst carries out their duties and responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with EquiTrust’s Company Values of Integrity, Leadership, Accountability, Teamwork, and Passion.
What You’ll Do:
Develop daily, weekly, and ad hoc sales and marketing data as requested for business initiative planning and performance tracking.
Develop, monitor, and maintain sales production data and provide analysis to trend and track engagement of EquiTrust’s distribution channels across various communication mediums.
Compile, track, and maintain sales production data for trend analysis, performance tracking, and development of business initiatives.
Serve as a data steward for sales and marketing data.
Work closely with the data warehouse team to ensure data utilized for reporting, metrics, and forecasting captures applicable numbers and analytics.
Monitor performance indicators, highlight trends, analyze causes of unexpected variances, and provide summary data and recommendations in a usable and effective format.
Identify and implement solutions in areas that require support to increase efficiency and document processes to assist the Sales and Marketing Department in meeting their established goals and objectives.
Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as necessary to support the organization.
Prepare and present reports to management illustrating trends, patterns, and predictions of sales and marketing efforts that are simple to use and understand.
Report analysis and data to stakeholders of the Sales and Marketing departments.
Use a variety of techniques such as data aggregation, statistical analysis, and complex data modeling to interpret and present results.
Design, develop and implement enterprise-wide analysis and reporting solutions.
Review and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources.
Support the Sales and Marketing team and/or other departments on an as-needed basis.
Willingly take on additional responsibilities as requested in order to accomplish department and Company objectives.
What You’ll Bring:
Education:
A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
A Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in a related field preferred (e.g., Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science).
Experience:
Associate degree: A minimum of 5 years of related work with insurance and annuity processes and systems required. Working with large data sets and relational databases.
High School Diploma or Equivalent: A minimum of 7 years of related work with insurance and annuity processes and systems required. Working with large data sets and relational databases.
Minimum of 3 years of related work with insurance and annuity processes and systems within the independent (non‑captive) agent/marketing organization distribution model preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to analyze and synthesize large data sets into usable metrics which allows for better and more informed decision making.
Advanced understanding of data analysis tools and databases.
Exceptional mathematical, organizational, and critical thinking skills with an elevated level of attention to detail.
Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
Advanced problem‑solving skills.
Ability to prioritize, establish and meet deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
Ability to work effectively in a variety of situations and respond to change in a positive manner.
Strong computer skills and the ability to navigate multiple systems and programs including Microsoft Office, proprietary systems, and other technology solutions, such as Salesforce.
Advanced skillset in analytical methods, including advanced Excel, Power BI, and other tools.
Ability to comprehend integration and interdependency of data and information systems and sources.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required, including a high degree of professionalism.

Expected Travel: Infrequent travel (less than 5% of the time).
