Responsibilities
Manage all commercial and basic technical aspects of assigned OEM and related Tier 1 customers, including new business development, customer presentations, developing and presenting commercial proposals, pricing and contractual issues, and technical issues during the acquisition phase and throughout the product life cycle.
Assure adequate and timely communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
Ensure all customer, legal, and company requirements and procedures are effectively met.
Focus on exceeding defined financial, quality, and other performance targets.
Secure continuous growth for the company in North America, according to the annual business plan.
Acquire new business opportunities (including new OEM).
Initiate, conduct, and execute the quotation process, and manage all pricing and contractual issues with customers.
Manage pricing targets and revenue targets.
Ensure compliance with Quality Policy & Guidelines.
Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the USA safety and environmental health manual.
Ensure all relevant Legal, Customer, and Group requirements for area of responsibility are met.
Implement and execute the Business Plan in the area of responsibility based on assigned yearly targets.
Focus on continuous improvement.
Meet all reporting requirements within the Group and North America.
Develop and execute financial budgets for the assigned area (if applicable).
Maintain constant contact with the relevant central functions of the Group.
Maintain appropriate records and files, preferably electronically.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the area of responsibility.
Coach and support coworkers in all aspects.
Participate in meetings according to the company’s Communication System.
Maintain detailed action plans to achieve assigned yearly targets.
Participate in development projects according to PEP.
Build excellent relationships with OEM and related Tier 1 customers on different levels and relevant functional areas (Design, Engineering, Purchasing, Marketing, etc.).
Present the product range at customers on a regular basis.
Monitor customer developments and trends, searching for new applications for products and market trends.
Initiate the creation of quotes for new business and changes to existing business with the Offer Team, and in conjunction with the Director Sales, Americas.
Deliver and explain quotations at the customer.
Facilitate the decision process at the customer and negotiate conditions.
Ensure that all necessary contractual documents are in place.
Invoice tooling and monitor tooling payments.
Monitor fulfillment of contractual obligations during series production and renegotiate conditions if necessary.
Develop a 3-year sales forecast annually and sales forecasts upon request in conjunction with Director Sales, Americas.
Visit customers in person regularly, including Engineering, Design (Studio), Purchasing, and other, also in foreign countries.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Sales & Marketing and/or Engineering, or equivalent.
3-5 years of sales and/or project engineering experience in the automotive industry.
Ability to participate in and follow technical discussions (internal and at customer).
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point); additional knowledge in SAP sales related modules preferred.
German and/or Spanish language knowledge highly preferred.
Ability to work in a multi‑cultural environment (US, Europe, Latin America).
