Über
Set up sterile field and gather supplies for surgical cases based on knowledge of instruments and equipment to be used. Pass instruments to surgeons during surgical procedures. Perform count procedures per policy during surgical cases. Function under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
Requirements:
Licensure Certification or Registration for Hire:
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) or Certified Operating Room and Surgical Technician (CORST) preferred.
Licensure Certification or Registration for Continued Employment:
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification. Must achieve CST TS-C or CORST certification within 24 months of hire.
Experience:
0-2 years of experience as a surgical technologist required. Experience working in an acute care setting as a nursing assistant or aide (if no surgical technologist experience).
Education/Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program military training program Licensed Practical Nursing Program or Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (RN Interns Only).

Additional position requirements:
Surgical Technologists work all three shifts weekends and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with employees specific Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. Schedules including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or in the best interests of the work unit. Takes call for routine cases after completing probationary period. Age Specific groups served: As appropriate based on unit assignment. Physical Requirements:
