Administer, maintain, and support production and development databases across SQL Server and Oracle environments
Monitor performance, implement tuning strategies, and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
Enforce database security protocols, manage user access, and maintain compliance with data governance and regulatory standards
Support capacity planning, backup strategies, and system upgrades to align with business growth
Collaborate with IT, application support, and development teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize data workflows
Document configurations, procedures, and policies to ensure operational transparency and continuity
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, training, and practical experience
3+ years of hands‑on experience administering SQL Server and Oracle database environments
Strong experience with on‑premises SQL Server (2014, 2017, 2019, 2022)
Proficiency with Azure database technologies, including deployment, scaling, and security
Working knowledge of Oracle administration (user management, release management, routine maintenance)
Familiarity with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication and synchronization
Background in cloud database technologies, including migration, performance tuning, and cost optimization
Experience with incident management and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Idera, and Azure Monitor
Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation, reporting, and integration
Foundational understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts
Ability to research and resolve issues beyond core areas of expertise
Strong technical and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable working with minimal supervision
Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities across database technologies
Adaptability in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment
Clear communicator with both technical teams and management stakeholders
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Willingness to support a 24x7 operational environment to ensure uptime and responsiveness
Quick learner with the ability to adopt new technologies with minimal direction
Experience thriving in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment
Pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
