Senior Reporting and Analytics Analyst (Senior Researcher) The Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC) invites applications for a Senior Reporting and Analytics Analyst position ("Senior Researcher"). A successful applicant will engage in applied health services and population health research in a project-based, team setting. The successful candidate will focus primarily on qualitative research, including design, instrument development, conduct, analysis, and reporting. This individual may also support the quantitative survey research or administrative data analysis component of mixed-methods projects.
Senior Researchers are expected to perform mainly technical skill tasks, but in some cases may also contribute to project leadership and administration. They are expected to complete work independently on tasks with moderate complexity while assisting or completing advanced complexity tasks with appropriate assistance and oversight. Senior Researchers typically work on multiple projects at a time and have significant project responsibilities.
Typical responsibilities
Assist with developing qualitative protocols.
Assist with designing qualitative data collection instruments including interview guides, focus group guides, observational frameworks, and document review guides.
Conduct qualitative data collection through semi-structured interviews or other qualitative methods.
Assist with qualitative data analysis, including rapid qualitative analysis and deductive and inductive methods.
Assist with the development of reports, presentations, and other deliverables for project sponsors and other audiences.
Conduct literature searches and literature reviews.
Assist as a liaison to project partners and sponsors.
Assist with the development of institutional review board (IRB) applications.
Assist in survey design, testing of survey instruments, and data checks on collected data.
Track progress on survey fielding and troubleshoot issues with response rates, data quality, and survey administration.
Participate in survey data collection.
Assist with research documentation, such as the creation of methodology reports and survey crosswalks.
Conduct analysis of weighted survey data or administrative data.
Minimum Education Required Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent is required.
Required Qualifications A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree or 2 years of relevant experience with an advanced degree (master’s degree or a PhD) in a relevant field of study is required. Candidates selected for an interview may be asked to provide a writing sample, complete a qualitative or quantitative instrument design task, a quantitative coding test, and/or provide a code sample. Successful completion of a background check is required. The selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre‑employment physical, including a drug screen.
Additional Desired Qualifications Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis such as semi-structured interviews, focus groups, or document review. An advanced degree in a relevant field of study is strongly preferred. Experience with mixed methods research, applied health research, survey research methods, programming survey instruments using platforms such as REDCap or Qualtrics, and statistical programming.
